Maybe he should leave negotiations to his mom. Though most in the AMA paddock have strong opinions about her, she got shit done.

Except every race is East of the Mississippi.

Well... wish him luck.

I am surprised for sure. I was surprised when I heard the MA thing, but that at least made sense in some regard.

If it floats his boat then right on. Enjoy it.

Maybe he got tired of traveling to exotic locations like Danville, Virginia and wants to get lost in the woods? :laughing

kind of makes you wonder what his goals are then? Why doesn't he just go race local club races?

Sounds like he just wants to DO something. Doesn't seem to care what, though doesnt want to bleed his own bank accounts dry. I mean, dirt racing is cheap! 1HP ain't going to make any difference in that series. You buy a nice RV, a few dirtbikes and spares, and go racing.

This sounds exactly like what my wife and I have discussed when I retire: Buy an RV and drive around and see the nation, but replace the racing with Golf?

Is it too late for Miguel Dehamel? I really liked watching him race.....back in the day.

but hes not racing MX, hes racing Enduro. i doubt Enduro makes it on TV. quick searches came up w/ nothing. their website is meh and makes no mention of TV. http://www.nationalenduro.com

they post highlight vids on YT though. kinda cool, somewhat repetitive. looks like its just 1 or 2 guys w/ cameras.

never a dull thread at barf.
max entertainment fasho.

i can understand Spies' motivation;
riding in the woods is solid fun.

dope photo with article.

author of the article is the son of (freakin') Kel Carruthers
from CW article :
CW: How has being a moto-journalist changed in 30 years?

PC: Part of journalism has lost its soul because of the Internet. I call it churn-alism. You get a press release and many Internet sites don’t even change it, or investigate it; they just post it, churn it out. I told my staff, “Look, unless they go into the press-release section of the website, they need to be edited, changed, you need to call who sent it and learn more. Don’t just regurgitate it.”

Gone are the days when you learned something, you’d call someone, you’d get a scoop. Now it’s, “Oh no, we can’t talk about it. The press release will be out later today.” So the initiative to work harder than the other guy has been sucked out of it.
