They applied this material to the infamous Laurel Curve on HWY17. There was/is an accident there almost every day of winter, and it wasn't until a violent fatal accident that they replaced the center divider and applied this surface treatment. I actually hate the stuff - it makes my bike handle weird and wasn't applied smoothly so it has a generally uneven and rippled feel.

Not as fast as I look.

I had no idea. When did they do this? And is it anywhere else on 17? I bet you hate the inconsistent work more than the material.

Just the southbound lanes at Laurel curve, about 100 yards long.
I think 17 is a great road, just avoid it during commute hours!
