Some Upgrade for the busa... a bit of feedback

So, took the bike to Evolution Motorcycles, they have:
1. Installed new tires - Dunlop Q3 Sportmax
2. Stainless Steel 6 Line Kit - Front, Rear, and Clutch Included - http://galferusa.com/product/suzuki-2015-gsx-1300-r-hayabusa-multiple-lines-fk003d873-6
3. EBC HH pads

I have passed 100miles mark since the install was done.
Initial impressions:
Tires heat-up fast, very precise and sticky - tested with locking rear wheel to get a feel on how fast they heat-up (get traction/no traction), bike became agile and more flickery in both slow maneuvers as well as "other" conditions - tested on street only. Consensus - great tires, will buy again, I hope they will last for at least 3-4k miles.

As far as brakes/clutch lines upgrade - clutch lever feels real nice - engagement seems smoother, can be due to new fluid. However the brake lever feels mooshy, while stopped I can squeeze it to the bar - yet, considering the bike is ABS equipped, under emergency braking 20-40mph range I was able to lock the front wheel and had rear come up, I could not tell if the front wheel was still spinning/progressing forward or if it was locked, if latter we have a problem.

I hope it was not locked as it would mean that ABS is malfunctioning?

Pads are obviously great, I feel such as they come up to operating temps very fast, have wide range of bite area - can be smooth during traffic stops, yet can slow me down fast enough from :wow speeds.

All in all, very happy with the upgrades. ABS operation to be figured out with more testing.

Sounds like bleeding the brakes might solve the soft brake. I would expect a harder pull and action further from the grip with the lines.

Having the lever go to the bar is no bueno in my world.

Agreed; a lever that goes to the bar would freak me out...

Bleed'em & see what happens. Only cost some brake fluid & couple hours...

Didn’t see a turbo on that list of upgrades. Can’t have the proverbial BARF “turbo busa” without, you know...a turbo.

What year 'busa? Not sure if relevant.

If the lever didn't used to go to the bar, and does now, that doesn't sound right. I imagine Rob will fix it htough.

My best mods for the Busa are my Darla LEDs and suspension. I have K-Tech in front and Nitron in back.

Rob flushed the brakes again and things are wonderful now :thumbup

BTW - I do not like a single Kawasaki motorcycle, not saying they are bad bikes, I just don't like them

To each his own; whatever floats your boat dude.

I've owned several YAM's & SUZ's, but more KAW street & racebikes over the decades than anything else since my first YAM in 71'.

IMHO the best of all of those was the 2000' ZX12R. Fastest, best handling, most stable, thrilling ride of all time. I also rode w/a BUNCH of Hayabusa's during the 00'-10' timeframe (in the twisties mostly...) We all liked & rode each others bikes...& they were very close in all regards...

Peace :afm199 :cool
