I really REALLY hate to sell this bike but it's time to let it go. It's a pretty standard FZ-1 which can be considered a slightly older R1 that has had handle bars and mid controls put on it. You can hop on this thing and ride all day (I have, literally) and take it in the twisties and keep up with most sprot bile riders without trouble. It's never left me stranded and never failed to start in the 6 years I've owned it. It's one of the most reliable bikes I've ever owned and is a great multipurpose street bike.
It is pretty much stock aside from an aftermarket exhaust, 1 extra tooth on the front sprocket and a little extra padding in the seat. All of which was done by the PO. Later versions of the FZ had the same sprocket change done... it was a wheelie machine with 16 teeth. :teeth
For the most part I just rode it... and boy did I ride it! It currently has 43,104 miles on the clock which if you know these bikes pretty much means it's just now getting broken in! Valve adjustment cycle is every 24k miles if that gives you an idea. :thumbup
I'm selling mostly because It's been sitting a lot more than any motorcycle ever should over the last few years. I think I've only put 2500 miles on it in the past 3 years and that's just not right!
I also have some soft luggage and a tank bag that I'll let go with it since they were bought for this bike and used when I did some touring rides. The saddle and tail bags I believe are Cortech and I don't recall the tank bag brand.
NADA and KBB have this bike retailing for about $3300 and trade in at $2300 without the extra luggage. I'm going to price this with a BARF price of $2600 with, of course, 1% going to BARF and is negotiable but only after you've had a look at it in person.
Please PM me for contact info and let's see if we can find someone who will ride this bike like it needs to be ridden!
