my boss has declared my department "essential" and must be fulled staffed, so I have to commute to SF from the east bay every work day. Thursday I expressed to my boss that I thought we shouldn't have more than one or two out of eight in the office, but he made the executive decision that we must be fully staffed. Friday a coworkers partner had to go to the emergency room with flu like symptoms. They recently travel to Antarctica as in they got back in the last month.

+1... been here for every minute.

No "Hey 19" in Antartica bro. Although connecting flights could expose them.

Trying to feed employees work... exemption per the Health Dept order.
plus it gets me off my ass and watching TV.

Nobody else here so feel totally safe.

The machine shop I work for in Campbell makes components for medical device company and does some National Defense work as well. So far we are staying open for business.

Four guys didn't show up on Friday; I'm interested to see how many fall by the wayside.

We have idle spindles that could be making need Covid19 equipment.....

Wife and I both work for non-profit orgs. She works with the homeless and me with under-resourced youth and single mothers. Both of us are considered 'essential services'. I'm mostly coordinating efforts from home. She has to go in occasionally to meet with homeless families.

Project manager/estimator for construction company. I work from home a couple days a week and in the office 3 days. Our projects are still ongoing as they are deemed "essential".

Auto repair is still considered essential infrastructure, so I'm working. For now. Things look pretty quiet next week.

My wife’s a daycare operator out of our home. She can close if she wants but “daycare” is considered essential so she’s open, at least for now. In fact, the state increased the number of kids she can have due to demand. She’s on her hands and knees every night cleaning the floor with bleach, wiping door knobs, etc.

<— Scientist. I’m working but I’m making a ventilator for my wife, myself, and my child at the same time I’m doing my day job. Both my wife and 5 year old daughter have pre-existing conditions. :(

Our company supports food production. Food = necessity. I'm working. I sent the 70 year old owner home. Sales staff are WFH.

So it's the tech, warehouse guy, myself and the marketing manager as he wants to come in. He has been helping with order processing and getting parts out.

I'm the EH&S guy. The company i work for makes parts for Defense and Medical, so we are open. I love the lack of traffic.
