SM track days

Does anyone here know how the SuperMoto track days work at the Kart track in Sonoma? Website doesn't have much info and they are not picking up the phone. Do you need a membership? How much does it cost? Is this the closest track to the Bay Area (Oakland)? Thanks.

just show up

$60 (although the last day I did was mixed bike/kart and they only charged $40, which is unusual)

Stockton is another good option, and open to bikes on the weekends far more often

Stockton is generally $30, and is open to bikes most days (basically as long as there isn't an event)

what bike?

Yup! most mini / kart tracks are pretty informal. Just show up. Either pay your track day fee and sign liability waiver at the gate, or office.

Last time I attended Infineon, cost is $60 (full day), $40 for half day.

Dixon and Atwater, $40

Stockton - scheduled track day event, $40 non-members, $30 members. Non-scheduled track day(s), $30 (typically, but subject to change). To become a Stockton Member, contact Allen for pricing.

If you have a FB acct., join the NorCal Mini Racers group page to keep informed of local events - Stockton, Atwater, and Dixon. For Infineon, you'll have to rely on their Web page - Moto's only typically on Mondays and Thursdays

In the case you had never attended a Mini-moto track day, and or a new rider, here is some important general info; Mini-Moto Open Track Day and Race Series Info

I actually just went to Simraceway (Sonoma) yesterday (Monday), you can find the latest schedule here:
https://simracewaydrivingschool.com/events/2018-09/

It's usually on Mondays is when the track is open to motos. They were pretty chill when I got there around noon I paid for the half day ($40) since the track goes hot at 10am. You sign a waiver form (similar to the one you sign at the entrance) and emergency contact info. They said they wanted all your lights taped up if you had any but no problem for me since I'm riding a dirtbike. Then they wanted you to have the sliders (axles, handguards, and foot pegs) and catchcans, which I had also, but they didn't inspect it.

There was a handful dudes there with some large sumos and ninja 400. Let's just say they got plenty of passing practice that day! Also when I got there they said there were karts and then they left so they said just go on the track whenever you want haha, I'm like SWEET! But some karts showed up later I'm kinda glad they did because I literally would be riding the whole time. Total I got about 8 sessions and according to Harry's Laptimer I did almost 90 laps! Whenever they said motos can go on the track I just went.

It was my first track day with my KLX140 Supermoto build :) So much fun for so little money :)

Oh man that's awesome. I need to get out to one of these asap!
I believe that's Tyler O'Hara's Ninja 400 with the #9.

Yep I talked him briefly, he had a supermoto too, I didn't know who he was then I looked him up later and he's a pro racer.

There was another dude there I thought it was him but he was drifting all over the track and popping wheelies. It's very entertaining watching other people ride on the track. :ride

I try to post up here when there's a Sears Point weekend bike day, as they're uncommon.

Kevin (wearing white/black/red leathers in a couple of those pics) is the guy I bought my YZ from, I wonder if he picked up a Husky

Yes, Kevin bought a Husky from Chris.

Hades - as a former mini rider, it was good to see a mini out there on the track. I occasionally noticed some puffs of white smoke coming from the tail pipe (maybe during shifts?). For a second, I thought you were on a 2 stroke. Thought you might want to know.

Yeah I think the white smoke is probably when I hit the rev limiter, I hit it a lot. I kinda used it as a shift indicator haha. I pulled my plug today and it was black and wet so with the main jet I'm running rich so that could also be it. I should probably do a compression test. I rode 90+ laps time to do some maintenance on that little 140 :) It would be nice to have 5 more HP... Which bike were you riding?

Here's some clips from my instagram of the action:

Yes I will eventually there is so much track time though. o_O' I'll probably post my best laps and the flybys.

I was using Harrys Laptimer also but... They didn't have the correct configuration for the track unfortunately so it's kinda messed up, I was looking forward to playing with the telemetry. Supposedly you can make a new track by walking the track so next time I guess =/.
