And if it wasn't a cop, it would have been a misdemeanor. It is common for States to charge a felony when it comes to uniformed government employees. I wouldn't get your panties bunched, yet, since we only know the cop's story. I hope he hasn't screwed what remains of his AMA career. The Danny Boy is PDQ.

Dug up this picture I took of Eslick at the AMA Pro Flat Track Las Vegas finale last November. The indoor short track had a tunnel/staging area like most arenas. After bikes were let out on track some very large foam cushion barriers had to be moved in place to close off the tunnel. Lots of pro racers, team members and officials were hanging out in this area watching the action. Eslick was one of them. The foam barriers were awkward and had to be moved very quickly. Eslick helped move them repeatedly. He was the only rider or crew member to lend a hand through the multiple practices, heats, semis and mains.

He seems to have no ego and just loves racing motorcycles and is thrilled to race every chance he gets. 'slick will never be the corporate spokesman type and he obviously can be a Hell raiser but he's definitely not an entitled brat or head case, IMO.

Huh, uh. This is couch racer's corner, where not everyone is a dumbass biker. $15k is sh!t for bail on a "felony". This ain't 1943.

Sometimes we make really bad mistakes, and sometimes people mistake us for really bad stuff. Again, I hope he has not fucked-up big time like a certain motocross dude.

Eslick's apology for behavior and arrest

".....I am deeply remorseful for the events that occurred on March 8th. It was not and would never be my intention to hurt anyone, least of all the individuals who choose a career to protect us as citizens. I want to apologize to the city of Daytona, TOBC Racing, the racing organizations, and all the people that support me.

"I am limited to what I can say at this point. I want to assure my fans and the public that this will never happen again. I'm very embarrassed and fully realize the gravity of the situation. At the heart of the matter I love this sport and care deeply about continuing to race motorcycles. The allegations I've been charged with in no way reflect who I am as a person. Certainly an entertaining website with the mugshots, but at least he didn't get his face busted up like Scott Russell.
