Hi! I couldn't find a thread on this topic and I'm looking to get an advice. I have a set of track plastics to install, and want to remove the side stand. I have removed all hardware, but I have to sort out the kill switch. Any ideea ?
Thanks!

I don't know about the GSX-R but on the R6 the stand being down is what depresses the switch. No switch or a relocated switch=kickstand up.

If that's not the case then trace the wiring back to the connector and figure out a jumper. The crudest and easiest way would be to snip, twist and insulate.

Just out of curiosity, will the kickstand not clear the bodywork? I found a kickstand for $20 for my race bike because I got tired of leaning it on things at trackdays. They're a very nifty invention.

The GSX-R is the opposite. The switch closes a circuit when the kickstand is up. You need to remove the kickstand switch at the connector, and install a jumper across the leads.

It's probably the easiest to snap the wires, then tie the leads and insulate. You can always go back and undo the whole thing if side stand is needed again. Thanks!

This particular set has no cut for the stand in the lower. I'm good with working with the rear stand, I had to lean it against a wall once after a low side @ T-hill :shocker

Also, stands are not legal for race use, and in some cases, compromise cornering clearance.

Thanks for advice, works like a charm... I have another one on fitting the tail section on: is the charcoal canister on the left side of the tail helping anything in the functioning of the bike? It would be so much easier to take off and on the tail section without scratching the paint job

The charcoal can captures the vapors that come from the gas tank when it gets hot. You need to make sure that you remove the right parts and plug the right hoses, while leaving the right ones open... and I've got no clue which ones they are. I imagine a forum specific to your bike will have the details, or it often isn't hard just looking at the diagram.
