Hey CV, I need to get a fork seal replaced on my 06 r6 close to home. I have racetech inserts and ohlins fluid in them so I would like to find a shop that really knows what they're doing to do the work. Anyone know any shops in the CV that can replace my fork seal?

TIA,
Dan

Unfortunately Boykin is no longer open. You can take it to a dealership or take it to Dave Moss at one of your trackdays that you go to.

I'd check with Matt Borup (sp??) at Modesto Honda. He does a lot of suspension work including shim stack mods. I know he's been to a lot of different suspension tuning schools.

Tell him I sent you to get $100 added to your bill :rofl

I'm trying to get Dave Moss to do it since he's the only guy who has been working on my suspension but his schedule is tough and I have a hard time getting my bike out to the bay. So it's gonna have to be closer to home.

I'll be sure not to mention you then. :twofinger

I'll shoot him an email though. I emailed modesto yamaha, but they still have yet to reply. :wtf

I'm not surprised. Email is not their strong suit. I do know the guys down there in the shop, though. Don and Gary from Modesto Ducati are down there now as well as Jack who has been there quite a while. I'd trust any of those guys to work on my suspension. (In fact, they have worked on my suspension :teeth)

Am I missing something? It's a fork seal, right? Yeah you've got the Ohlins internals, but as long as you know the oil weight and fluid height, it shouldn't be a big deal. Taking a leaky fork seal to Dave Moss seems like asking Dr. Ting to wrap your sprained ankle. I could easily be wrong, though.

MotoStop 209-688-0909, they're in Stockton. Carl and Allen are awesome dudes!

Total Performance Racing 209-296-MOTO 6686. JT is in Pine Grove, and is awesome, too!

Can't go wrong with either of the two. They know their stuff.
