In the market for a solid shine red rf-1200. Where do you guys find the best deals? I would buy local but man they sure do overcharge and i'm broke...

Road Rider has a good selection and does for the most part beat other retailers.
Their helmet selection isn't bad.
Other than bike shops or Cykill gear that's all that's around.
Too bad Helmet City went belly up :(

I've always purchased helmets from Road Rider. Their everyday prices are usually pretty close to Internet prices. If not, ask them for a discount. Or wait for one of their big sales, when they tend to have some killer deals.

Also, keep in mind that on helmets with replaceable pads they'll usually swap pad sizes for free. I almost always want cheek pads that are a size thinner than the ones that come with the helmet, so the free swap saves me $30-40 versus buying online and having to pay for cheek pads.

I'm curious about this as well. Been thinking of getting a new helmet, and there are plenty of places to pick up the 1100 for about 40% the cost of a 1200. Any significant upgraded aside from the designs?

WebBikeWorld has a good review of the RF-1200 which you can compare to their RF-1100 review. As I recall, the 1200 is slightly lighter and slightly noisier plus it uses a new face shield design and a slightly different shield lock.

For me RF1100 and 1200 has a different fit.
The 1100 didn't fit me well. The 1200 fits me very well and closer to the fit of my previous helmet( shoei quest).

So there might not be a choice at all between the two depending on how they fit.

as far as price, my local honda dealer had the best price( or within ~$5) otd of anywhere at the time it was introduced. I think i got around 25% or 30 % off MSRP

I live three hours north of Road Rider but that is always where I go for riding gear of all types (including my latest helmet buy - RF-1100). They have great selections, good prices and a knowledgeable, helpful staff.

I've been less impressed with Road Rider's selection in recent years. Scuderia probably has a smaller selection overall, but better stuff IMO, and prices seem fully reasonable. It's worth a check if you are in town.

When in doubt...
This is slotted to be my next lid. Dropping change in the piggy bank every day to save up. It just fits my head the best of any helmet I've tried on plus I like the solid colors and the size/weight of it are good. Not to mention the Shoei rep is pretty solid. Thanks for the info yoda*...

dang thanks man! dude i emailed them through forum@ridersdiscount.com and got a quote for 399 shipped. You inquired for the rf-1200 right??

I paid $359 in January 2014 for my sold white RF-1200. It is a year later however so there's that. Still a good price and they have a great return policy.
I knew large would fit me so I knew it wasn't going to be an issue. It replaced my RF-1000.

Exactly the reason I've been shopping. I think it's time to retire my RF-1000...:|
