Oakland Yard needs to seriously step up their game, they always seem to be the laughing stock when compared to Scotland Yard.

I read today that it's probably part of another carcass found around there.

Just like the dead deer that the dogs tear up around strew around.

Wow. Oaklamd.

My favorite line is the opening one. "Police investigators on Monday were trying to determine whether a decaying human head found in an Oakland backyard belongs to a recently discovered headless corpse."

I liked that part of the article best:

So they found a headless corpse.

Then someone turns in a head. (which, just by itself is fairly awesome and ballsy.)

I wonder if they go together? I mean, like, how many headless corpses can there be?! That's some detective work there!

In conversations about modern life lately, I really like to cite Elysium (the movie) periodically and refer to the scene of life on the earth in that movie. If you haven't seen it, basically, the elites have moved off the planet and left the losers to fend for themselves in a big giant LA basin locale, with, interestingly, Spanish having become the main lingua franca.

Then I drive around and see the homeless encampments on this real earth. It's some kind of weird combo of Wild West and Mad Max so the idea of spare corpses littering the earth isn't that surprising.

A few years ago, I was at the Walgreen's in El Sob picking up a drive-thru prescription and I could see authorities carting a corpse off the hill behind the store where the homeless people sleep. When I drove around back after the pick-up, I saw a huge puddle of blood by the dumpster. I think they had a knife fight or something. It didn't make the papers, though.

To live and die in El Sobrante, or Oakland.....
