Who can recommended a bottle of scotch for a wedding gift? The easy way out (read don't know shit about scotch) is a bottle of JW blue label. Maybe get a few folks together and get a bottle of JW blue label King George V.

I'm sure BARF has better recommendations though.

An alcoholic standing next to my husband and brother in-law during a late night booze run to the nearest drug store slurred this sage advice, "Forget plastic. Mama always said the good stuff comes in the bumpy bottle."

So look for a bumpy glass bottle. Can't go wrong.

Laphroaig 30 year if you can find and afford it, Springbank 15 year if you can't. Dalwhinnie 15 year if the Springbank is out of your price range.

If your google search for Kitchen Sink Scotch, you should be able to dig up some of the many threads over the years where we single maltistas have had out our differences over the favorites.

If I had my choice id take a single malt unblended scotch, but good luck finding one that does not cost an arm and a leg.

Nah, you can find a pretty nice range of different Single Malts for $65 or less. If $65 a bottle seems like an arm and a leg, you should really switch to Bourbon.

Its certainly true that not every wedding you attend in your life is worth gifting a ~$80 bottle. But if they're only worth a $25 gift, there's much better value you can give them than a bottle of cheap hooch.
