The seller was a great guy - retired mechanic from Caltrans - he gave me an AWESOME collection of spares for the bike!

It's got a great pedigree - I believe this pic was taken in NorNV in the area that WoodsChick and Eric like to ride :thumbup

Can't wait to get it out on the dirt - my wknds have been crazy with work, but hoping to go break it and me in @ metcalf real soon :thumbup...now I just gotta get some dirt tire irons and practice my tire changes :teeth And of course I'm already thinking about farkles...heated grips and dirtbagz...maybe a pair of SM wheels :teeth

Hoping to make the Dec Stonyford trip if I can make the schedule work - be another great place to get dirty with the husky...as well as camp & party with all you hooligans :twofinger

The 610 is a great ride for big dez, but also can be fun on moderate single track. Great suspension, good power...ton of fun. Just don't drop it more than about twice on any given day, she 'gets' heavy...

Here's mine in Baja Sept 2012

:laughing Yes to all of the above!

Congrats on the new bike, Tim!
I think you're going to have fun with it :thumbup
Did you tell the seller you knew me and that you test rode 2 of my 610's?
I hope he didn't charge you extra for that :teeth

And, as always, drop a dime if you have any questions or whatever.

:laughing Boy, howdy...ain't that the truth!
I used to have about 3 or 4 drops a day in me. Anything after that and I'd just shut the gas off and wait for Eric to help me out. Now that I've dropped some pounds it's even harder to pick up :tails

Simple solution: just don't drop it. Sounds easy enough, right?

That's the solution I go with :thumbup
That's why I'm so conservative in the dirt with it :laughing
The upside, though, is when I ride my 165 2-stroke I can yank it up with one hand all day :ride

I love my two strokes. They're both older and a little heavier than the modern ones, but I feel like I could pick up a 240-250 pound bike all day. That said, crashing hurts and I would much prefer to remain upright as much as possible. I'm a wuss nowadays, which is why I ride conservatively in the dirt. :laughing

Oh no, Oh no, please dont fall

It's funny, when I start to loose my balance on a trail, I'm not even worried about the fall, the only thing I'm thinking about is having to pick the bike up afterward..
