S1000RR ('17) luggage options for 2up

Hi,

Wondering what would people suggest for luggage options for S1000RR, for 2up ride.

I've been looking at tank bags, but they quite small (and I don't know if big one will be fine for me), and I don't need too much space, say - miminal amount of tools, tire repair, couple sweaters to put under gear if it gets cold, etc.

How much do you want to spend, and how often will you use the luggage? There are some nice option from companies like Hepco-Becker, but they are far from cheap.

cortech/tour master side bags and tank bags are awesome for the price...

I added the tank bag, side bags and rear top bag and made it to Austin, TX and back...

Thanks for input!

Hepco-Becker does look nice! As for price, I'm not sure to be honest, if it worth the money I'm okay to spend more.

My main concern is passenger comfort, do you guys have experience with 2up with side bags? How passenger felt about those? Were bags in the way or they aren't noticeable for passenger?

Thanks for suggestion :laughing but it doesn't fit. I'm 6,3, wife is about 5.6, so pretty much everything besides sportbike will make me blocking view no matter what. And I really don't like when she had to lean to one side to be able to see.

I've done a lot of touring on "non-touring" bikes over the years. A good bit of 2-up riding as well. Honestly, I can't think of a worse platform to tour 2-up on than a sportbike. The weight distribution will be so off, the bike will handle horribly... Maybe even a bit unsafe. Saying that, I understand where you are coming from, wanting her to be able to see what's happening. But I would never do that at the expense of a bikes overall handling and or performance.

Tour on a touring bike.

A ton of really tall guys I had as customers out on the east coast toured on St1300's with their wives on the back. They all touted that it was the best tall to short touring bike out there. I'm 5'9", so I can't speak on that point. :rofl But I did love my ST1300.

This is why King & Queen seats were created! I was impressed with the view from the back of a Norton so equipped, the + 6” tubes probably added to the effect.

I don't know. I've done 2 up on a ZX9R , a 1986 Ninja 1000 and my current bike, the ZX14. The ZX9 was super sensitive to the passengers movements. The ZX 14 doesn't care if she's dancing on the back seat. Still handles great. Yeah, none of these bikes are hard core sport bikes but I've spanked several of them, 2 up , on these.

The blaze bags are great but the band on the seat isn’t great for a passenger. It could go under, possibly.

Hepco gear is really really good.

Nelson Rigg sport saddlebags might fit the bill

this would be my vote. we're on our third set...first were on my bike when i went down some years ago, and they did a pretty good job of protecting the back end of the bike without getting too torn up...they were still usable, just BIG. replaced them with a smaller set (these) that leave the passenger pegs quite usable. were i to put a passenger on at the same time, i'd probably fold a towel under (and between) the straps to give them a level place to sit.

Nice! Those actually might fit, and they don't need extra hardware. Thanks!
