After an amazing "weekend" (Mon and Tues lol) at Sonoma with the Yamaha Customer Appreciation Days we're off to Thunderhill for more fun and great riding!

Saturday night Pig Party Luau with the Kazman pulling double duty doing the honors on the grill Saturday as well as covering for me in the classroom all weekend - thanks mate!

Our 12th Annual Women's VIP Day gets an early start this year with a Saturday afternoon check in, bike prep seminar at 2pm, a 3pm pit walk, and pre-tech at 4pm. At 5pm on Saturday after the track goes cold join us for a truck ride around the track to get an up close look and discuss a few turns - non riding participants are welcome to join in.

And a new bonus this year - every woman who signs up for this years VIP day gets a $50 off coupon for a future Z2 track day!

And it just keeps getting better - how you ask? Well, hows this: Z2 will select 3 women rider participants from all the registered riders on Aug 19 for the opportunity to be a "Z2 Rock Star". As a Z2 Rock Star you show up to the track with your leathers, boots, and helmet - just like a rock star - and Z2 provides a fully prepped Yamaha YZF-R3 for you to ride. All day. Like a Rock Star.

What's not to like, right?

On Sunday morning we get into the land of "Things That Cannot Be Unseen" with the famous Z2 instructor crew sporting tutu's during tech and on course - with lowlights from past Womens VIP days including the bearded one Rory outfitted only in a coconut shell bra and hula shirt {shudder}, and Micah in a pink thong. ¡Que Horor! We'll supply the plastic forks to stick in your eyes if needed. We're good like that...

So get out and join us for what is going to be an epic weekend, I'm geeked up, who's in?

Hi Mike and BARF! Really looking forward to this festivities this weekend! I'm signed up for both days but unfortunately my friend who was giving me a ride can't make it due to a family emergency yesterday. Super last minute, but can anyone provide a ride there and back for me and my bike? I'm in Oakland right off 580. I'd really appreciate it and I'd happily cover your gas for the weekend! Thanks so much!

Edit: I'm all set! Thank you to Mike and Harley from Z2 for finding me rides!

Planning on Sunday, and looking forward to it!
Are the early festivities (pre-check, tech, tec) and the truck ride around the cold track for the VIP ladies only? Or are the gents who are ridding on Sunday only able to participate?
Any info on air quality and smoke conditions?

Saturday afternoon stuff is for the ladies only this time. The VIP event is once a year and we like to go the extra mile to make it exclusive.

We hear anecdotally that smoke is much better now but haven't been up there in the last couple weeks. Much less smoke in Sacramento so hopefully that's a good sign.

I've been tracking air quality through airnow.gov. Air quality index good to moderate at 95988, based on time of day, the last couple of days. Hopefully that holds out through the weekend.

Just browsed the Caltrans cameras for Williams and Chico, doesn't seem bad today:

I believe Sunday is the main event, but Z2 is expanding the Women's VIP day into a day and a half with some extra learning opportunities on Saturday... correct?

I'm looking forward to this weekend! The Z2 Women's VIP day in 2012 was my first track day... yipes, six years ago. Time flies when you're having fun :ride

Anyone going today has a spot for me and my bike (I'm in for the weekend)? I'm in Pleasanton, will pay for the gas of course:) I can go by myself too, but my daughter has a fever, so I would prefer not to leave my family without a car.

To help people help you - are you riding both days? What size bike, and how much riding, tools, spares, and personal gear? Are you camping at the track, or staying in town?

Both days, R3, I don't have any tools, except 2 stands for the bike. But I'm camping, so all gear + tent/inflating pad and sleeping bag.

Taze away, Yana...
What a great weekend. Little bit of smoke, but I know how much worse it could have been. Super tasty food Saturday night at the luau too. Reminder for me to stay away from the rum punch next year... Woof!

The VIP woman's day looked like a total success and with some outstanding prizes raffled off too. I was super jelly at lunch. It's like Oprah was handing out free track days! 'You get a track day, you get a track day.' Half way through the prizes I was contemplating the expense of gender reassignment.

To top it off, only one crash! Way to go gang!
