RIP Peter Tork of the Monkees

Its Dethklok!
(CNN)Peter Tork, the bassist for The Monkees and a jokester on the band's popular 1960s television series, has died at age 77.

I guess he's on the Last Train to Clarksville. Godspeed Pete.

I really hate seeing my childhood idols go. I think I'm really going to come off the rails of the Crazy Train when Ozzy passes. But that's for another thread.

The first album I ever owned was More of the Monkees. I was 4.
RIP, Mr. Tork.

I was the same but a bit older. My Mom bought it for me because I like the show. She soon got sick of hearing "I'm gonna buy me a dog"

:rip Peter

Thanks for the fun.

Well shit. This bums me too.
I recently saw a documentary on them. I already liked them but gained newfound respect after learning how how defiantly they flipped a controlling Don Kirshner the bird.

There was some real untapped talent tn that group.
Except for that short dude, Davy Jones, or whatever.

"Just 'cause I'm short..." Daydream Believer" ? Cool tune.

Rolls with it...
I liked a lot of Mike Nesmith’s solo stuff from songs (Cruisin’ aka Lucy & Ramona), to his movies (Time Rider/Repo Man), to tv shows (Elephant Parts/Television Parts)...

Very creative dude, but his mom did invent Liquid Paper....

I heard it was Micky Dolen’s mom who invented liquid paper...

Nope, Bette Nesmith Graham...

The cast also included The Circle Jerks as the nightclub band and the Untouchables (one of my favorite ska bands) as the scooter gang.

The film came out when I was in college, we went on a generic beer buying spree after watching it. Nasty stuff...
