Easy Rider brought a ton of Americans into the fold and celebrations by so many others with a freedom vibe.

R.I.P. A great icon of American film. I'll cue up Easy Rider in your Honor. Hope you and Dennis Hopper are riding the highways of heaven on choppers right now.

That movie changed my life. And those of my riding friends when we'd watch it together.

We WMC did a tribute on their home page - pretty cool . . . with videos below on the making of too :hail

Rolls with it...
I saw him once at Tarpy's Roadhouse in Monterey, he was on a ride with a group of friends on their way to one of the classics shows at Half Moon Bay. He was riding a classic BMW RS... that was kind of a cool day for me.

Godspeed Peter... :rose

A great story . . a BMW too . . wow! He was the king of rebellious chill freedom and cool in a time where that was rare. Cool you got to see him, and thanks for sharing that man! :thumbup

Legend, culture, counter culture, history, all embodied in one person - the class act to represent motorcycle culture for generations.

RIP American Moto Icon!

I had a nice conversation with Peter Fonda at the 2006 LOTM.

He told me had ridden up from the LA area on an old BMW and it melted the side of one of his boots. I looked down and the boot was melted. He said he should have chosen a more modern bike from his fleet but did enjoy riding the old classics.

The marquee bike at that show was the Crocker and Peter was hanging with Mr. Crocker himself (and his family).

Here's a tank badge from one of the Crocker Police bikes...

You, or I, or most anyone at that event woulda got chased off of that Crocker very quickly. Peter asked and was given the OK to sit on it.
