To me, his most memorable role:

RIP, Mr. Brimley. :rose

agree completely. he was AWESOME in that movie!

James A. Wells, Assistant U.S. Attorney General : What'd you figure you'd do after government service, Elliott?
Elliott Rosen : I'm not quitting.
James A. Wells, Assistant U.S. Attorney General : You ain't no Presidential appointee, Elliott. One that hired you is me. You got thirty days.

And China Syndrome, always did a great job playing a relatable character.

Pretty much the only way I seen remember him now, I saw The China Syndrome on PBS twice recently. What a soft homey character .. he slipped out of the bar when Jane Fonda asks him something ..now who would do that!,,? :laughing ;)

How do we know friendly aliens didn't just take Brimley to their home planet? Brian Dennehy left recently so someone should check on Tahnee Welch and Steve Gutternberg

Like others, I found his role in Absence of Malice as a standout performance. RIP.
