New track! New track! New track! :laughing

I always debate if I'm going to do both BW rounds since they're pretty far for me and that's a loooong weekend, but I'd definitely go to try out fresh asphalt and new corners.

Obviously you guys need to make sure it's a financially viable choice, just letting you know at least one member would be excited for it. :thumbup

GOOD feedback. I want to do it too, really bad...but it'll be the season championship round at a new track. Holy.....

New track...nobody is going to care that its the last round, you will get the attendance. Even more so, the SoCal guys will also be in attendance. I would guess it could potentially be the biggest grids of 2020.

This!!! I agree and I don't see how it wouldn't be the biggest event since its a new track. Wouldn't matter if its first round, last round, or in July. If you build it, they will come. lol

We currently have to choose on Sonoma or Thill for Labor day. I've asked for another Thill date, but it's not open so now it's up to working a trade/ acquisition of one through other means. Fortunately, we're decent at this and have done it before...but we need to have a solid attendance for Sonoma. That round is an AFM stable, but also expensive.

I talked to Les today and he's holding a date at the new track for us in October of 2020. The rub is this: it would be our last race of the season and BW has never been the most loved for that...but, NEW TRACK.

Thoughts?

Yellow plate here. And a SoCal person, so I'm clearly biased, but I think a new track is great.

Thill East is one of my favorite tracks, but more variety is always nice. It is also always nice to run on fresh pavement before wear and tear sets in. Plus, I'll have a shorter tow home.

I hope Sonoma stays on the calendar, but the costs of Sonoma and Laguna nowadays seem crazy.

Yay for new track! :thumbup

I even considered doing some OMRRA/WMRRA mid-season to get to play on some new tracks. So it's pretty obvious I'd be excited about a new BW track!

I sent the email and they're trying to work through the existing reservation on the date. Fingers crossed.

Not yet. the cost function is a bit of an anxiety point, but we have some extenuating circumstances that may make sonoma a preferred venue this year due to the West Coast Inivational/ All Clubs West coast championship. I'll know in about 12 hours.

YES for new track. And Buttonwillow for the last round is not bad, people will complain regardless of what happens.

I’d rather get another round at BW and some more variety than just have another “Thunderhill Championship of AFM” ;)
