Residential Electrical Help Needed

Hey BARFer's,

I am beginning a kitchen remodel in my house and have run into an area that I am not an expert in, but am confident I can handle. I am looking for an experienced electrician that can provide guidance, or maybe do the work on the side.

I need to relocate the 220 for my oven from one wall in my kitchen to another. The move is about 14 feet from the current location of the 220 junction box. This length accounts from coming back down the wall to the crawl space and then over to the new location.

Anyone here able to help? All that can be offered is appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

Get some 8-3 Romex with ground and run it from point a to point b. I assume it is a forty amp stove. If fifty amp get some 6-3 romex. If the crawl space is more than three feet high it MAY be considered exposed by some inspectors but is probably ok anyway. If really exposed, consider running MC (metal clad cable). Put steel stud plates over any holes you drill in the studs/plates to prevent nails from puncturing the wire. Install a 4 11/16 box at the end terminaton with the appropriate cover for a stove plug.

Thanks for the help. BARFers like you that are willing to share information rule. :thumbup:port

The stove specs show 30 amp and I have a current 40 amp circuit. I guess I will be pulling some 8-3 over. I figure I will go wth MC as the current junction box has MC tapped into it for the connection to the old oven.
