Just bought a 2009 WR 250f from a friend in Oregon. Curious about the process with DMV/ParkOHV. According to the VIN I'm green sticker eligible. Any tips to avoid complications when getting my OHV sticker?

I got nuthin except that I know they want to see the VIN on out of state streetbikes, so I assume dirt bikes too, in which case I'd make sure to bring the bike with me. Congrats on the new ride, btw!

You take the title to the DMV and turn it in with the bill of sale.

You might have to go get a VIN verification. When I bought the bikes I bought out of State (one dirt, one street) I had to do a VIN verification but you can't do anything about that until you go to the DMV first.

Make an appointment at DMV.

A couple of factors in play for plate vs red or green stickers in cali:
- If the out of state title says "off road only" = not Platable
- I think the seventh digit of the vin determines red or green sticker eligibility
- emissions sticker on the frame, cali or 49 state.

My buddy tried to plate his nevada bought wr and got shot down by the local dmv for the emissions sticker.

I registered my out of state 1997 KTM 300 EXC at the Pleasanton DMV. It was previously registered in Oregon, I had the title and still had to do a VIN verification at the DMV. They didn't really seem to know what they were doing, but I left with a green sticker as expected. Make an appointment and plan to be there for maybe 2 hours. Good luck!
