The driver finally noticed you in his rear view mirror and thought he could ditch you. He ditched himself instead.

damn that sucks. Ive ridden redwood roads many times and luckily never seen any accidents but the idiots are out there

Looks like the driver put his right side in the dirt on the left turn, tried to bring it back on the road, then over corrected and then over corrected again. As Clint says, "A man's got to know his limitations."

like quicksparks mention, the driver trying to ditch you. he was driving over his skill limit and eventually lost control. hard lesson learn but hopefully the driver is ok.

Wow. How hard was he trying?! HE ONLY LASTED TWO/THREE MORE TURNS
...both in bikes & in cars there are :squid

back in 70's saw a beefed Mustang loose it same way, except he was almost at the Rifle Range entrance. East of the road the drop-off is over 1000'. When we looked over the side, the car was gone/way down the steep ravine.

Heard later he had rolled & was 700ft. down/hurt; he spent the night there before they could get him out. I guess if you ride RR, beware of the East Side, the cliff is much larger than you can imagine...:wow

RWR Is no joke, nearly anywhere on that road... if your unlucky enough.

I assume he lived. Fuckin miracle.

Itd make me so sad to see someone trash an expensive or beautiful car.

Reminds me of the G-Force vs WRX incident way back in 03 or 04' on hwy9.
I had a very similar situation with an AC Cobra replica also in the early 00's but the guy managed to save it. It was very close to ending the same way and it was in a faster section than the incident above.
That one calmed me down for a while from playing with cocky cagers up there too.

We stopped and helped him out and he just picked up the car recently too. Lucky enough the bushes and being hella flush saved him from going over the dirt mound. Otherwise he would've went right over the cliff. The car was stuck and had to get towed. My buddy stopped shorty after for him and the driver said he was trying to avoid a deer lol.

I've crashed on redwood road, it's not fun. Always scared to have the bike fall off the cliff and forever gone.

The guy was probably driving with too much attention on his rear view mirror.

Did you stop?

How much damage to the car?

What did the driver say if you did?

Hopefully no injuries.

The two guys in the Miata was fine. I pulled over and got off to check on them. There's damage to the undercarriage as it got stuck on top of a mound of dirt. Offered help but we had no signal at that turn. A nice lady drove by and offered to call a tow truck for him as she headed to castro valley. Cops came shortly after to check up on him and the tow truck came an hour later.
