Came out to my Sportster to find a nail in my rear tire earlier today. Anyone on BARF do towing service or can recommend a local business in the Alameda, CA area? Would like to get it towed to Oakland HD and put on my new rear tire there. How much does this service normally cost?

got a hold of Cycle Tow (Berkeley) and its $75.
For them BARF Angels out their, if you'd like to make few bucks send a PM my way! Looking to transport tomorrow at 4:30pm.
I don't have the tools, equipment or skills to remove the rear wheel.

I'm (surprise!) one of them thar BARF Roadside Angels. :teeth

Oakland HD closes at 7 PM on weekdays, and I work in Mountain View. It would take me about an hour & a half to come home on my bike and then drive to Alameda in my Suburban. Then load up the bike & transport it to the dealership, another 45 minutes or so.

Did they say they'd be able to remove the wheel, change the tire, and re-mount if you got it there by 4:30?

Ambroz Tow. Got a rig set up specifically for motos, and will pick you up anywhere in the bay area for $60. Bob is a damn good chap, too. Unfortunately used his services way too many times this year.

When I called I didn't inquire if they did tire services themselves. I was going to have them drop if off at Oakland HD and drive me back home same day. Oakland HD won't be able to install my new tire same day so I would drop it off Thursday and return Friday to pick it up. Mountain View is quite a distance but if you want to make some pocket change, I could cancel my appointment with Cycle Tow. Either way works for me! :thumbup

what a pisser? what is it w/Bay Area dealers that are not willing to come to a riders need in an emergency.

OUT of the Bay they are great= same day service. Around here it's "drop the bike off & maybe we will get to it in a few days." :afm199

SUX! :thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown

More reason to do your own services as much as you can!

Grab a patch kit: Here or Here plug it and ride it over to the shop, if the nail is not in the sidewall. Seriously not that hard and you don't have to remove the wheel.

Dood, it's a nail. Patch and ride. It should take any tow truck 10 minutes to fix it. :dunno
