GPzPop

Ask me about my B-1-D
I nominate " little lake - Comche" to "Orr Srings " - from mendo to Ukiah OmG SO MUCH FUN from glass smooth to barely paved rutted moguls, sweepers thru redwoods to endless tight 1 lane switchbacks, etc.

my XSR900 makes a willing dance partner

recomend!

There are several very goaty fun roads up there!

175 out of Hopland
515 out of Pine Grove
Don't recall the road number but it ends in Potter Valley and that was twisty, remote road. I was following someone else...
253 out of Ukiah
I second Orr Springs! I road that one once, 20 years ago.
There is also another road that runs along the coastal ridge out by Hwy 1 that I think is Cameron road but it has been a lot of ears since I rode it.

Apparently the first time I wrote the list of roads, I did not post it...

I live in Potter Valley, not sure what road you refer to. There is a sweet 3 mi. chicane in off of hwy 20, the only real way in. The only other way is via Lake Pillsbury by way of either Upper Lake or Covelo over Hull Mtn. (one hell of an dirt ride!). I'll also add - Mountain House (Hopland to Boonville) and Fish Rock (Boonville to Point Arena). It is dirt and road heaven up here!

I don't know what road it was but we started in Ukiah and ended up in Potter Valley and there were some good twisty parts. I was following a local and it was 21 years ago.

That is a pretty good one. "Comptche" to Ukiah is fun, too, although I inevitably encounter a logging truck hogging the entire road.

Farther North...
There is one off of Hwy 36, Alderpoint-Bridgeville Road that's a blast, too, assuming no baked-as-hell-hippies are in your path.

and farther South.
Cazadero another goaty favorite of mine. I rode it recently on my 690Duke and had a pretty good ride, despite the wet pine needles.

From Boonville to Gualala- Fish Rock Road, do not attempt on sportbike like my 2003 R1. Didn't crash, but it was a very hairy ride. It might be fun on Adv or Dirt bike, though, or a Land Cruiser.:)

Or right in Marin, Fairfax-Bolinas road. Watch out for idiots on bicycles.

Lot's of us locals ride Fish Rock on liter sport bikes, it's paved the whole way but indeed goaty, it is a work out!

When did they pave Fish Rock Rd?
I haven't ridden it in 7-8 years but it was dirt after the first few miles heading south.

X2. I rode it around 6 months ago and there were 20 miles + of dirt. There was some construction, but that was just a retaining wall in a slide area.

My bad - Confused Fish Rock with Mountain View out of Boonville.

Not even close to goaty.

Maybe not goatie but the coast end of Branscomb and the section of 1 from the coast to Legett are some of the twistiest sections of pavement around...and a blast on a supermoto!:thumbup
