Race bodywork

If do track days pretty often, seems a good idea to have a race bodywork kit fitted on your ride (since that could turn out to be a good investent in case you crash and OEM parts are so much more expensive).
There are a few options out there, does anyone have feedback on this one?

the cheap stuff is worth every penny you pay for it. If you can afford it, sharkskinz.

You dont have to buy new sharkskinz, I searched around quite a bit and found a used set off sharkskinz with decent paint on them and never crashed before, for a great deal.

+1 It is worth spending the extra money on sharkskinz. Cheaper fairings can be a serious headache.

True but there are good fairings out there without the sharkskin price. Check out Eracing fairings.

Im not sure what bikes they make em for but they fit perfectly on my 600rr. Pretty good quality too.

Sometimes crappy race fairings can be a headache to fit, but afterall they are just for the track....

I guess "you get what you pay for" never gets old... 280 is very tempting but if the fit is bad... Thanks for your feedback/advice.

I have a set of low $$ bodywork and the fit is a little off, but it's for the track for f&%k sake. A little trim here and there and it's good to go.

My first set was armour bodies, the quality was tits and the figment was perfect! The dimples were spot on. After I high sided I destroyed them so bad I decided to get a new set. This time I went extremely cheaper, 200 shipped for a no name eBay set. I have to say I couldn't be happier. For the price I paid I was expecting the fit to be horrible. Well I mounted them last night and it wasn't bad at all. The dimples on this were pretty damn good! I'd give the fit a 9/10 and the quality is pretty good too. Obviously it's no sharkskinz but for 1/5 of the price I wasn't expecting much. I figured if I crash and destroy them I can always buy another set and it will still be half the price of sharkskinz.

I bought an undertail from Pti-eck a few years ago and the fitment sucked. Also one rock hitting it cracked it pretty bad. Still not bad for the price though and I would hope they have refined there fitment since then.

By the way I got a painted set of attack skins used with slight rash for $200 bucks off of a racer. Very pleased. Search around especially for a K5 gixxer and you should be able to find a deal like I did.

my favorite so far has been AK Composites. Great stuff! Flexible and very lightweight even after a full paint job

so sad that they disappeared off of the face of the earth

shark skinz....yeah, there carbon stuff is still good

i'm trying this newer brand called Optimal Racing. Let you guys know what i think, before and after painting

You get waht your pay for in a few ways: One way is fit and finish, the other is that the lower end stuff can and will shatter and shred with enough abuse. I crashed at speed, and my sharkskins (bought used) held up fantastic, despite the bike sliding down the track at about 90mph. I was even able to bend the fairing stay back without any issues.

So...it's not just fit, it's also crashability.

the JDM bikes stuff crashes very well and is nice and flexible

Hot bodies are crap and extremely brittle
