r6 cripple tripple de-conversion

I recently acquired a 2015 r6 that was converted to a 450 and removed the one injector fooler that I found and plugged back in the actual one on the harness.

Anything else I need to do to convert it back? map on PCV? Spark plug? does this bike have two injectors?

I was looking for that 450tripple.com site but it appears it's gone, so just a quick heads up on what's required would be great.

What's required to put it back depends on how it was converted in the first place. There are a couple different methods. Why don't you ask the previous owner about everything that was done to it so you can reverse it?

For all you know the cam lobes of the disabled cylinder may have been ground off.

To answer your questions directly: If it was tuned as a triple, I would probably have it re-tuned with all the cylinders. But it may not have been tuned in the first place.
Did you check to see if a spark plug was installed/connected in the dead cylinder?
It does have two injectors. The second set is in the air box lid.

May want to check your sprocket as well, they probably went up a few teeth in the rear.

If you post a picture of the part that was plugged into it I can tell you if it is the same as the one I just used to 450 my r6. If that is the case, you can probably just unplug it and it will go back to firing on all cylinders. No way to know for sure though as mentioned above.

I did ask the PO, they didn't know, they "bought it like that". :shrug

I'll post a picture tonight but it was like a plug that went into the main rail below the airbox. I think the bike is currently at -1/+2 which is probably what I'd keep it at anyway.

I was under the impression it was simply the main rail injector fooler but wondering if there's anything else, I didn't bother to pull the airbox... is it usually another 'fooler' loop thingy inside?

Is the spark plug left in, grounded and a dummy plug or just left off? Or does the PCV just disable the third cylinder?

No, the R6 definitely has both injectors and both should have been bypassed or you’ll run into big issues.
It’s a little hard to hide the second dummy in the air box, so *usually* it’s either rerouted outside, or bypassed further back in the harness with a connector like mister Zarra makes, either way it’s not as simple as just the primary injector.

I would definitely open the air box, simply because it’s a new bike and I’d want to see how it looks in there, regardless of the possible injector bypass.

There’s multiple options for the spark plug too, some leave it, some replace it with a valve, although that’s the less popular option now. Once again, we can’t know what they did till you pull it out and look at it.

I’m only aware of people that have disabled a cylinder electronically on gsxrs, and it was using a Woolich system.

Like others have said too, for all you know the cams could be ground down. I wouldn’t want to reconnect the fuel and put a new spark plug in there and just assume it will work without even knowing if the valves are actually going to function.

I think you’ve got some work to do. Luckily it’s all pretty easy to figure out if you just actually get in there.

I would definitely take off the air box, throttle bodies, and valve cover to see what I could see.

I took the airbox off and found this second fooler attached to the wire that runs to the upper injectors at the airbox, but I don't see it's male counterpart. Was this spliced off that black cable? With the main rail it was clear which was unplugged but this doesn't.

Hard to tell looking at it on my phone, but I *think* that’s one of marcus’ bypasses and you should able to unplug both ends of that short little harness with the injector attached and then reconnect the female yellowish end at the bottom of the picture to the black male end at the top.
His little harness just reroutes the wire for that secondary injector, out of the harness back there, rather than having to deal with it up at the air box.

Please note however I am not a certified cripple mechanic and take no responsibility for what may or may not occur when reconnecting said harness haha.
