Quarantine Beard Challenge!

For many of you this will mean nothing since I know there are a lot of you fellows around here that are beard loving men.

I am not. Neither are many of my friends and plenty of you manly men that don't prefer beards. Not just in my age group of mid 30s but all the way to 60+.

For those of us that don't like beards, many are taking the challenge to not shave until shelter in place/quarantine is over.

If you've been holding off on shaving, post 'em up!

I'm on week 4. Normally day 4 is my max limit.

Myself I am still shaving and trimming, but letting my hair go. It was at the edge of biz OK when this hit. It is getting long and while it is a bit shambled I am glad to let it rock. My helmet was tight last week and tomorrow is ride to work day so probably tighter still. :laughing

What an interesting expression on your face.

I decided the other day to let my beard grow out again, I have one about half the time. About 3-4 weeks of growth is the length I generally keep it at.

Know that if you must wear a mask, a beard is the last thing you want to grow.

I suppose if you just wear a cloth or surgeon mask it doesn't matter too much. But for those of us who wear N95 or any mask that needs a seal, you don't want facial hair, especially a beard.

Don't do much more than stay at home all of the time.

I can shave it off. I'm trying to keep up with all current developments.

If this is not a good one, then I'll go back to the way I usually am, clean shaven.

I like that you are committing to a longer term change of lifestyle/expectations that probably comes with this/subsequent viral outbreak/s. Looking forward to 6 month beard growth image, and possible ZZ Top beard growth.

Edit: I was not being sarcastic, but do think that a return to normal is unlikely within the next 6 months, if at all.

just do that one and you won't have to find a razor as well as a respirator if you need to go into hotspots..

No worries man. Plenty of people are in your position. Plus, I don't think it will really make a difference with the type of masks recommend for the public to wear when out.
