Anyone ride the MX track at Prosser Creek recently? I may be headed up that way to ride and was curious how it compares to say Metcalf or 408's MX track

What planet is Prosser Creek on? How close is it to here in the center of the universe, say, Cupertino?

Its just north of Truckee, in the Boca Reservoir area. Every time we've stopped by there people are riding it, I cant vouch for it condition. Looked DRY

Last time I was there I spent very little time at the track.... its not really maintained like 408 and or Metcalf. There is fun riding around there, but I wouldnt go there specifically for the track. Its been a number of years, but that was my memory of it.

I read there's a somewhat maintained track around south Tahoe, but it sounded very unofficial. Not sure where I got the info, maybe the mx775 forum.

Prosser pits as they are called are not a destination mx track IMHO. But, there are tons of trails around there to launch to that make it a worthwhile spot to park and ride for a bit before exploring the surrounding areas. Prosser Hill (the animal), trails and dirt roads out to Boca and Stampede, etc. Tons of fun stuff scattered all over those woods.

full disclosure: I am not an MX rider, I like woods and trails.

On the way to Tahoe is a good time to check out Mammoth Bar MX near the Auburn exit off 80, or Prarie City off 50.

There is a lot of trail riding around Prossor Pits but the track always was hard pack and not maintained like the others.

I agree. For such a small place, I quite like Mammoth Bar. They have a nice little sandy mx track that they water and a couple of the trails that have great hillclimbs and some tight switchbacks. You've seen the whole place in an hour, but it's still pretty fun. The mx track at Prairie City is much better (not the main hangtown track, just the little one), but the 'trails' aren't as good. I've had this dream of buying some land up here and trying to create a NorCal replica of Washougal...
