Pre-Ride to Minato 2/19/09 5:30pm

This is a small pre-ride over to Minato. This will be the route.

You know that feeling after a good work out when you are standing in the shower with warm water? Well this pre-ride is going to be the "work-out" and Minato will by the "warm shower". Yeah, great analogy, i know. I am that smart.

Becuase it will be dark, the pace will be relaxed. Imagine riding home from your gf's after you guys made "sexy-time".Your body is depleted of testosterone. That depleted feeling will be the pace.

It WILL be cold and possily damp. So dress warm.

Meet at the Starbucks on Calaveras east of the over pass at 5:30. The ride will leave 5:45 sharp.

Hopefully we will reach Minato's a little bit before 7 pm.

Ride your own pace. You want warm food not broken fairing tabs and shattered bones.

Has anyone done a recent sighting lap through Calaveras? I wonder if it's still chipsealed like a mofo. :dunno

I'm gonna go on a sighting lap right now.

We aren't really doing Calaveras rd the "twisty part", merley the beginging that puts us on Sierra rd.

Ride report:

Coming up Calaveras is clean. The chip seal is packed down now and solid. I had no traction problems what so ever.

There are two parts on sierra that are "black-topped" . There are little pebbles on them, but traction shouldn't be a problem because its on a straight.

When it becomes a one lane there is wash-out from the rains but its not too bad. Just stay to the center of the road and everything should be okay.

I was looking for tricky turns; specifically blind ones where there is debris mid turn, i wasn't able to find any.

Overall it should be okay to ride Thursday night.

Hey just got home guys. My rear wheel bearing is not doing so well. Its making a clicking sound every rotation of the tire.

I didnt want to risk be stranded on sierra rd. Sorry about the turn of events.
