Posted Grid changes

At the last round just before one of my races, a fellow racer asked me if i saw that they changed the grids. He was looking at the cool new mobile website. I took a picture of the grids posted on the wall and sure enough there was conflicting information. It didn't affect me so I didn't pay too much attention to it. Later after the races I was reviewing some rear camera footage and noticed 2 racers lined up on the same grid spot behind me while the spot next to them was empty.

So how reliable are the grid postings on the mobile website? Is that system where the the grids are pulled from and that is the latest and greatest?

Are there any rules about how late the grids can change once they have been posted on the wall?

I had problems with the grids on mobil not showing the outside of the rows...I dont trust it so I just check the official grids shortly before each race.

Interesting....there were some timing and scoring issues this weekend but this one I didn't know about. I'll ping Chris to take a look and see if that deepens or clears the mystery.

I had this happen to me as well. Both myself and another racer found ourselves in the same spot due to conflicting information.

The round prior, I wasn't on the grids at all on the web feed, but only on the printed version.

On the subject of grid changes:
They need to be announced at least twice. Once initially and once during the following race. I have had grids to my next race changed and announced while I was on track quite a few times. Fortunately, someone in my pit or nearby caught it and told me. But if it was also announced during the following race, it would help ensure the people out on the track are aware

I hear of repeated PA System Issues, which seems to be at the same tracks. We only race at 3. Is this an AFM issue or is it the tracks system???

I'd love to figure out some sort of Web based announcement system that has all announcementset and times posted. Everyone can see it and/or hear it in their pit regardless of location and there is a visual record for missed announcement with possible links to extra info. See ncsportbikes.com/forums/index.phone and scroll to the bottom and look at the NCS Chat box for an example. We could easily duplicate these via tweeter, etc. as well

Just to point out the silly obvious that I found out the hard way - if my phone is in portrait orientation I can't see the full grid row (or scroll) but if I flip it sideways to landscape I can see the full grid.

That's a Chris Keane/ Zoomius thang, but he's pretty progressive and reactive to requests, so maybe we can push him to get there.

We did a great job at the Superbike Shootout and the one or two subsequent rounds, on following the time schedule, but trailed off on the discipline there towards the end of the year. We need to get back to that. I'm sure we can update the race day times on our own website as the day goes along, which may be a cheap way to keep the schedule ripe at least...or push on Keane to develop (and let us test) the app I asked him for that automatically updates the schedule races times based on how the day is going. That would be SICK!

That'd be great. But a simple rolling shoutbox that lists first call, grid change announcements, results posted, etc. would be awesome. I can't tell you how many times a possibly important announcement just happens to come up when 8 bikes go ripping by and I can't hear squat.
