I picked up one of those at auction a while back.

How does the fiberglass look where the rear signals mount?

Have you had the fuel tank off? At the rear of the tank on the underside there are two areas where the bottom has bends that are almost folds in the metal. Mine are cracked and were leaking. The tank also had a dent in it so I searched eBay and the only one on offer looked great but had the same cracks. I had mine repaired - welded. It is currently with a friend who does body work getting dents filled and a new paint job, black of course. Just wondering if the cracking is universal.

This tank looks great. I checked it well before I bought it.
I was also aware of the cracks forming on the tail with the directionals. A commom problem on these. This one had them repaired. I am thinking of taking them off until I find a solution to avoid it from happening again. Would you know by any chance what the fix is?

I've cut the tabs off the seat/tail piece. I'll be clamping them to the frame under the seat. I haven't done it yet, but I don't anticipate it being all that difficult. I might need to get something fabricated though.

How about the battery strap? The hook for it on the left side is gone. Would you post a picture so I can see what I need to get into. I think a 12 year old did some work on mine as the wiring looks like it has been monkeyed with too.

Recently reacqired this 1975 gl1000 aka goldwing. It is reasonably close to stock with paint, mufflers and rear signals being the most obvious deviations. I sold it to a friend who painted the existing panels he acquired from ebay, so the original faded candy Antares red panels still.exist if I want to revert to Ridden Hard And Put Away Wet look.

I plan to fix a few things I did t fix the first time in owned it and just rife it when I get a chance.
