The composite stock that is an option on this rifle was checkered so my though was to mimic it. Not sure it was the right choice.
Yea, the composite stock is the one that has my eye, as much as I like the look of the wood. I just wonder if it's worth the extra pound for the rifle. (Not like I see myself carting the thing around anywhere but from the back of the Jeep to the bench, but...I'm also lazy and puny, so...)

But that is far secondary to the rifle itself. I'm not sure where you are located but you are welcome to come up here and shoot it at our private range. I'll have to pry it away from you before you leave though...

(oops, I see that you are in Orange County, quite the distance).
Yea, little far for a day trip. But I appreciate the offer!

New couch

Had the last one for about 10 years. This one feels a lot more padded. Not sure if it is or the other one has just broken down a lot. Slightly higher end model than the previous.

I swear we have that exact same couch just in a different color. La-Z-Boy?

Yup. It's called Trooper and since it's months to get one built we ended up with the version with the electronic headrest and recline since they had one at the warehouse. Hopefully the motors holdup for a good long while. Turned out to go with a lot of the colors in the room where we put it so I am pretty happy.

Our old one had the external handles to activate the recline and it was easy to use but the new ones have that black recessed lever. They look nicer than the old mechanism but I am not a fan of how they actually work so I am fine with trying this one with the powered movements. Plus getting the head rest to adjust is pretty nice.

Recently lost an awesome cousin very unexpectedly. He'd been wearing his signature Cons since he was old enough to walk. Bought these in celebration of his life, and they make me happy.
