Hey All,

Here is another request for support!! :teeth

I am not going to stop.. until we are sure we get our word out there and we are successful.

One of the SBR members reached out to them to email Assembly Member Jim Beall.

I want to throw barfs weight at this too.

Here is a link to the thread on SBR.

Here is a snippet from the SBR thread: Jordan was VERY adamant about me getting MANY PEOPLE to write and those who write on a subject but only have one or two letters are set aside. When a group like the OHV'ers write and send emails in mass (write your own letter please) we ARE heard and those letters DO MAKE it to Jim Beall's desk.

I spent a long time explaining Clear Creek Management Area and the biggest issue now the Gas Tax being taken by Senator's Evan's and Simitian.

Here is the email address you need to write jordan.eldridge@asm.ca.gov Jordan assures me he will pass on the letters/emails to Jim Beall personally".

We have to continue to push...! PUSH!!

Your help is appreciated!

Here is my letter.

Dear Jim,

I am writing about the recent OHV fund $$ grab and wanted to let you know how many motorcycle enthusiast feel about it. I had the opportunity to meet with then Senator Simitian on this issue and ended up frustrated by his continued pursuit of funds from one of the very few Park system pieces that actually work well and within budget.

We have already lost a world class riding area in San Benito county known as Clear Creek Recreational Area. This area was large and sprawling and provided a great benefit to our community and local economies. Now with the impending transfer of funds that as of now have not been deemed as legal the quality of the existing OHV Parks is already being reduced by overcrowding access is being denied to many families and riders. I believe the OHV system would greatly benefit if it were to return this area as a State OHVRA. There is significant scientific evidence showing that the closure does not stand up to close inspection. I believe that the EPA and BLM know that and there is no risk of Asbestos poisoning at Clear Creek.

Several enthusiast have also pointed to Henry Coe State Park being viable to the OHV system. It is very remote, large park that sees little use and I am sure that with the stellar record of the OHV Parks this area could operate the park and it would be self-sustaining.

I truly fear that other OHV Parks will now be facing closure or failing conditions in the near future because the Tax money is directly related to operating costs and also the funds support many very important programs through the Grant funding that is a piece of that. It will also greatly affect restoration of damaged lands that are not OHV areas and contain endangered species.

I am completely outraged that gasoline tax funds that are designated by law as funds for by the OHV community will be stripped to support other parks. The current Park administration has shown that it cannot seem to get their act together and in reality the money from the OHV system will likely not even go to the Parks, as shown last year when the Governor redirected 10m to the General Fund.

I would respectfully request that you oppose any and all legislation that illegally steals OHV funds and diverts them to other uses. Furthermore I would also ask that he advocate for OHV system and ask when the 150M plus already borrowed from the system be paid back. I am writing in behalf of the Bay Area Riders Forum and our 40k plus members who enjoy great times together and with their families at these facilities.

I would be happy to discuss this in person or on the phone.

Sincerely,

Denny Kobza

Useful idiot
CORVA just sent out a petition, as well. I joined CORVA last week, and I intend on supporting them with donations as often as I can. We need to keep fighting, folks.
