Please help! 2 kitties in need of a foster home before Thursday!

Hello All! This is from a friend who is desperate and has reached out to me for help. Details follow...

Wanted: foster home for two cats! I am renting out my house in the Bay Area for a year and moving in with my parents in Lake County. Unfortunately, my mother is violently allergic to cats, and my two beloved cats Pumpkin and Sammy can't go with me. Some other arrangements fell through, and now I need to find a home for them before I turn over the keys to the new tenant tomorrow night, or they'll have to be surrendered to the Humane Society.

Pumpkin is an 8-year-old calico; she's purely an indoor cat and is basically a princess. She's sweet and affectionate and will follow anyone that goes into the kitchen. Sammy is a 5-year-old orange and white male, very large: about 16 pounds without an ounce of fat on him. He's indoor/outdoor (mostly outdoor) and will purr and rub against anyone that stands still long enough, but he had an abusive past and doesn't always want to be handled.

Please help me keep them out of a shelter! If you can foster them for six weeks, I have some friends that can take over on August 19 until I'm able to return to the Bay Area and take them home again. I'm desperate to save them.

If you can possibly help by taking her cats in for a few weeks that would be a great help! If you can take them in for a few months to a year maybe, that would help even more.

Would love to foster them for 6 weeks, but can't in my rental. You should post pics to really pull the heartstrings...

I already have one of those cat things. he thinks he's a dog. And is about as much of a pain in the ass as a human child. Don't need another one :p

I can take them for 6 weeks! I've got the room. But I have a dog, 65 pounds and another very sweet young boy cat. Hopefully they'll get along. In the shelters, they put the cats in these awfly small cages. :(

if i didn't have a small apartment and a furry nine-lived son who doesn't play well with others, and didn't have to clean the litterboxen (don't have a yard either) I'd be all white-knight to save me some kittah's
