places to camp and ride between sf and san diego

hi guys im looking to plan a trip hopefully mid summer. If things settle down.
looking for recommendations between sf and san diego. i like riding through woods rather than open areas. example i would rather ride through adob> granite in holister. i used to use rifer planet but their map page seems to be down. any info would be great. thnaks.

I myself cant wait for Foresthill to open up in a few days ( fingers crossed as it usually opens 4/1. I haven't been there before and have heard great things about it.

foresthill is awesome, went one year right when they opened. it had snowed the night before. one of my favorite trips. as with everything else in tahoe, its very isolated compared to holister.
