Check Kelly Blue book, NADA, CycleTrader, Ebay, Craigslist (even though some people on Craigslist are asking non-realistically high prices and will never be able to sell the bike at their asking price), and know what the current market value of a similar bike is before considering a purchase. Consider the maintenance work or fixes that YOU need to do to the bike, and factor that into the price. It is ok to pay more for a bike that has had all of the maintenance work done to it recently, or pay less and get a bike that needs some work, but you must know this in advance and be ok with it.
    • Inspecting the bike: if you are not experienced yourself, have a mechanic or an experienced friend check the bike before making a purchase. Crashed bikes:This is even more important if you are buying a bike that is being sold at a cheaper price with damages that the buyer is required to fix. In these cases, doing a frame check that will show any frame/fork/geometry damages is HIGHLY recommended. Do NOT simply rely on the information that the seller is providing, even he/she may not be aware of all the problems. Have the crashed bike checked and know what you are getting into.
    • Clean title, Salvage title A clean title doesn't mean the bike is free of serious issues. A Salvaged title doesn't mean the bike may have any problems. Every case is different. Some bikes are seriously damaged in a crash, but an insurance claim is never made on them, so they still have a clean title. Some bikes have had mostly cosmetic damages in a crash, but the insurance company decided to pay off the bike and salvage the title rather than spending the money to fix it. Know what you are getting into and don't make any assumptions based on what the seller is telling you.
    • Registration: Know about the current registration status of the bike. Check with DMV if you have any questions about any possible back fees and other title/registration questions (out of state title, no title with bill of sales only, etc.) before purchasing the bike.

    • Comments within a sale thread should be on topic and educational. Aggressive critiques and inside jokes will not be tolerated. Don't fuck it up, because the next step is disabling the "reply" feature entirely.
    • If you disagree with a price, keep it to yourself. The seller has set the price. If you don't like it, don't buy it and move on. If you really feel strongly about it, then PM the seller.
    • If you are interested in an item, feel free to PM, email or contact the seller privately. Feel free to post if you need clarification... however, your post should be in line with above mentioned rules.
    • If you are aware of a serious issue with an ad (SPAM, stolen goods, a frame damaged bike being advertised as a 'never crashed' bike, etc.) please PM a moderator about it.

      BARF isn't craigslist, ebay, cycletrader, etc. Buyers who are looking to buy from random strangers do so on one of the above mentioned sites. I'm selling a bunch of my old gear. I'm flexible on price and can also combine items for a better price. I'm locate in south San Jose but can meet up within 50 miles or so from there. Let me know if you have questions.

Pictures to follow in second post. I haven't had to use a third part hosting site in a while, so I'm not sure how the pics will load along with the text. With that said if the pics don't load let me know and I'll try a different host.

I'll post any damage with the description, but nothing in the list has any real damage. Just some from regular riding. None of it has been involved in any crashes or impacts.

Spidi R2 racing suit. From looking this up it might be kangaroo, but I can't tell for sure. I looked around for tags but couldn't find anything. So I'm going to say it's cow leather just in case. Only damage is some scuffing on the replaceable knee pads and one tear near the calf that is hidden with the boot. I caught it on the peg while not wearing boots and ripped it. I'd like to get 400.00 for this. It's a size 54. I'm 5'10" and have been 180-200 and it fits me fine. At 220 now I'm pushing it with a back protector. :rofl

Bohn Pro Racer back protector. 100 bucks for this or additional 50 with the suit.

Sidi Boots. Again no damage here except regular wear from riding. No weird smells either. Size US 9.5. I wear a 10 in most shoes. I'm thinking 80.00 for these.

Xlite X-802RR carbon fiber helmet. Worn once from the ride home which was less than hour. Comes with smoked and clear visor. Really nice and light helmet. Medium size/58cm. I wear a medium in Arai if that helps. I'd like 200 for this one.

Alpinestars SP8 gloves. In size large. 2-3 commuting rides with these. One very small hole in the thumb webbing. Likely just a defective stitch. 50 for these.

Joe Rocket jacket. Size 44/54. I'm 5'10" and right in the middle range of fitment. Has a the usual padding and back protector pad. 50 for this one.

Scorpion Covert Jeans in size 36. Nice kevlar lined jeans. I've never worn them. I bought hoping they'd fit over my mx boots. They don't. 80 for these.

I'm also adding my pretty much brand new Alpinestars GP Plus airflow jacket. It's been worn maybe 3-4 times. Nothing wrong with it. Hasn't even been in weather warm enough to sweat in it.

After riding more and more on my supermoto bike I start to realize this stuff cut for a sport bike makes it hard to move around a lot. Was a lot easier when I had a sport bike.

I'd like 150 for this one.

Most prices dropped so check it out again! The helmet I don't want to lower too much. It's brand new and retails for 450. Suit dropped by quite a bit.

Remember...everything is OBO.
