This would not make a street bike, nevertheless a commuter!

Very short ratio gearing, high maintenance, and you'd be rebuilding the top end every month.

It's a YZ for chrissakes! :)

It'd be good for the occasional commute to work or Santa Cruise/Rt9 strafing run if I put on a dirt track tire and some taller gearing. :teeth

Shoot.. while I was out on my 2000 miles ride the week before last; I changed the counter sprocket gearing three times while on the side of the road. :laughing

Sweet sex on wheels..... that bike is just too damn nice to destroy commuting. I rarely ride my TE on the street even though its plated. Rebuilds just come around too frequently and too costly. It isnt an XR....

But a dirtbike on the street always reminds me of highschool. We used to ride our 2 smokers to school... without a plate. Different era and no one cared. See a cop, jump in the ditch and off into the woods. :ride

Shoot, I used to ride my dirt motorcycle all over county line road where we were so far out the sheriff never patrolled. I rode for hours and hours without ever seeing a police car and even if they did see me, I knew him.. officer so and so.. nice guy, he was a friend of my dad's. Ya know?

It's so different now, the police are pretty much 'predatory' here with the tickets; I even managed to get a ticket @ Carnagie OHV!

What the hell? I can't act silly? I just PAID to get in! OKay.. I DID wheelie out of the guard shack and then sideways down the road to the MX track.. but still, I wasn't hurting anyone? I'm having FUN!

Guess that's life in the big city--> "Secure the happiness!" "Here's a ticket for you!"

B'oh brought up a great point, the WR tranny would be tits in there. Also, if there were any full on dirt bike that I would be willing to abuse on public roads, it's definitely a YZ/WR 400/426/450. I'm super jelly, but hope to join your elite club before too long!
