pi pi closure?

Was trying to make a trip at the end of October, but a friend told me it is closing on the 5th? For what?

more than likely the time of year,but i assumed that they stayed open until the first snow fall,

If they get too much rain/snow, they will shut down for a drying out period.
There is also a seasonal closure that starts Dec. 31st till March 31st. This can be extended as the USFS decides. Call the USFS at Rock Creek (530-333-4312) and they can help you.

I rode PiPi yesterday (25th) good soil, big puddles, warm

staged @ elkins, rode to pipi thru the snow and ice. Be warned to take good warm gear.
