Kincaid Rd

I struggled with how to capture the majestic mountains across the valley since the camera doesn't show depth well. I'm pretty happy with how some of the shots came out.

Got out early yesterday and it was still over 100 by the time I got home around noon. Gotta stay hydrated! Camelbak FTW!

I love that you can see the road cut into the mountain off in the distance...

For just the second time this year, I went on a ride that did not include any dirt. There is only one good twisty road of any reasonable length less than 15 miles from my house - Bogus Basin Road. So I rode it to the top at a nice brisk pace most of the way.

Here I am at the top.

Spent a few minutes waiting on road construction on the way down. However, once you get through, if you wait a few minutes on the other side you have the road totally to yourself. I took advantage of that. :teeth

Took my son-in-law for a ride up to Thorn Creek Butte. There is a fire watch tower up there with a good view of the mountains in all direction. He hasn't ridden a bike for a few years and is not super experienced, but had a good time and only dumped it once in some sand.

Here we are on the road along Arrow Rock Reservoir on the way to the road that heads up into the hills.

Heading up, near the top. Good views of the mountains in the distance once you get up there.

Gotta stop once in a while to enjoy the view.

The view from the tower looking back toward the bikes, a couple of four wheeled vehicles that had also come up there, and the mountains in the distance.

We stopped for lunch on the way down at the only set of picnic tables on the whole mountain that I know of.

From yesterday. I only saw the gas station in Healdsburg before, but I just discovered that it has a beautiful downtown with chic shops and restaurants! So far away, though...

West Dry Creek Rd out of Healdsburg. This vineyard-lined road is achingly beautiful, it looked like paradise. I had a lot of riding to do so didn't hang around long.

Previously I didn't think twice about walking into the roadside bushes to get better angles for photos, but I must have touched poison ivy/oak somewhere recently and got pretty bad rashes in my right elbow area. I've never noticed them before, but once I started paying attention, I see these 3-leaved devil plants everywhere.

The Junction I was wondering what the line thru the middle of the photo was.

It's that cable and the sun was directly above making a shadow that looked like a continuous line.

Ken, good to see you back up on the RZ so quickly. Did you happen to stop and look at the "turn of concern" from your last excursion on Mines Rd?
