That was my first bike; a CB50 in Belgium in 1972.

Man I wish I still had it.

That one is in great shape.

Mine looked exactly like this.

January 2020 - New Zealand and Australia

In January of 2020 my wife and I went on a cruise from Sydney Australia to New Zealand. They had just started checking if anybody had been to China when the cruise ended.

Here are a few photos from the trip. Hope they don't show up too big. They're supposed to size automatically...

I Don't Do GPS
It wasn't really a vacation but we were up in Miramonte for my birthday in early March and I just wanted to go for a ride around the `hood and take some photos. We took the Jeep since it was supposed to snow. We never got further than 15 miles from home but I had a really nice day. We've taken some nice drives since, but this was pretty much the last "event" before SIP came down...

Hong Kong's new airport is crazy efficient with very little tardiness (compared to LAX's +60%). That's 530 terminals, yet never too crowded to get around. Lots of people-movers to get you to destination quickly.

They were handing out free face-masks everywhere.

Well, my friend's daughter just accepted to Tulane so in 2 years I'm helping my buddy driver her car to New Orleans with 3 days again in Austin and maybe more in New Orleans if I can convince the wife to fly to New Orleans and then on to Miami.

Something to look forward to.

After taking that photo of the globe in the Cathedral we walked over to one of the oldest Liverpool pubs the Philharmonic Dining Rooms and my brother in law and I had a pint.

530 terminals!? Christ.

Also, I've always thought "people movers" was such a weird term.

Like... we can come up with elevator, escalator, etc but they couldn't come up with anything better than "people mover".

Flat escalators? Lateral elevators?

Some of those terminals are actually bus stops. Takes you to plane parked out on tarmac somewhere. Pretty cool system as you can get more planes in & out per hour without having them waste time jockeying for position near buildings.

I google'd the airport out of curiosity.

Conveyors?

It's amazing we have all these words and somehow we settled on being okay with people mover.

Can you imagine if we used that term for other things? Like, check out my 2005 V8 Supercharged people mover.

Sorry, back to your originally scheduled program of vacation/travel discussion. :teeth
