Oregon Washington Ride Aug 31- Sept 14

Hello

I looking for 1-3 riders who would like to go to Oregon and Washington.
This would be my 2nd time on a bike.

Am leaving Saturday August 31 and getting back Sept 14.

My pace is '"poky tourist", stop for photos and distractions.
Been riding 50 years and rather see the scenery than blow past.
Riding FRJ1300.

No rush back. Routing is flexible. No fan of the Desert

If you have a truck and 2 bike trailer, Colorado / Utah/ New Mexico is a possiblity. Never been there

Lemme know if you have time and experience

Just got a back from our annual Seattle/whidbey island ride a couple days ago. Good time to go. Watch out for fires in Oregon. It was tough riding through such thick smoke. Hopefully they’ll be handled by then.

Hey Tom

You are usually are so far back, would you even notice?

It would be the 2nd time in Oregon on a bike.

Never made it to Mt St Helen's last time as we got rained in Mt Hood. So we went central and south from Hood. It was spectacular, ready for another run.

Oak, I was not aware of fires this year, will keep an eye out. Couple of years ago the fires closed the planned roads and we never got past Trinity.

What was your route in Seattle/Whidbey?

This year I had a new to Seattle rider with me so we did a bunch of the usual touristy stuff. Bruce and Brandon Lee's graves, pike's place, gum wall, Fremont troll. Didn't have time for the underground tour, we only spent 1 day for Seattle. Stayed in Everett and rode up 5 to 20 and took that over Fidalgo and deception pass on into Whidbey. Our destination was Oak Harbor so we didn't go too far. The next day my brother had to go back to the island to pick up his bike so he and his wife took the ferry from Everett to whatever town that is in the south of the island. It's been a few years since I've done that so I don't remember the names.
