It rained. Sometimes, hard.
I rode up anyway. Topped up my tank before leaving with 100 octane "clear gas"! Too bad you can't get that just anywhere.
These old R69S models run pretty damn good on that stuff.
Only problem is that it's $8.99 a gallon!

So there were only two BMW's on the field this year. Mine, and my friend Steve's, the offroad touring vintage BMW club.

Norton was the featured Marque, and they came out of the woodwork. I'll post up pictures of some of the ones that aren't Commandos.

Oops. Got some Commandos in there. Nice ones though.

A Honda Dream fire department bike found in a barn in Japan.
A very nice Honda Café Racer built as a project by students at West Linn High School. They managed to avoid the pipe-wrap and no front fender clichés.
An extremely well-preserved Honda Transalp.
And a CBX with two miles on the clock.
(if it was mine, and given the slight corrosion that 35 years of storage left on it in certain places, I wouldn't worry about preserving the low odometer reading. Just ride it)

A 1941 Sport Scout. (yes, you could get a "skirted" Scout)
1956 KH, The basis for the original sportster, but a flathead engine. Most of the bottom end parts and crankcase are interchangeable with the later overhead valve sportsters.

A Matchless G12 (I think) 650cc.
A pair of AJS's. Both Matchless and AJS were part of Associated Motorcycle Company, and shared the top-of-the-line with AMC. AMC's other models were all small displacement two-cycle commuter bikes.
A very rare Royal Enfield. A 350 Bullet based on their unit construction "Crusader" engine. This model is rare probably because 350cc was just too much for this engine to manage. It started out at 175cc.
A Velocette LE, 200cc horizontally opposed, shaft drive twin. This model is pretty rare. Most of them had cheap sheet metal bodywork, and were sold to the UK post office for delivering telegrams.

did the amount of surface rust on that dream like double in the span of a few hours in that rain? :)

i like the pipe work on that CB350. did you by any chance see where/what brand it was?

I didn't. I could ask around and see if anyone knows.
