Looks in pretty bad shape but the RE5 was not a big seller and is very rare 40 years later...

Definitely more of a project that I'm looking for. I bet finding parts is a headache. Could be a good one to part out on Ebay!

An RE5 collector would want it for parts if for no other reason.

if "need them gone" = free, absolutely get those.

the RE5 is a cult bike. there was one guy in the midwest somewhere that had some huge hoard of parts ans was the Go To Guy. he had to close up shop a couple years ago, and the parts... i don't know where they went. someone wants those parts. worst case, make a sweet chainsaw out of it.

even if you imediately relist it on CL with a better description to make your gas money back (and probably some for beer)

Looks to be about 15-20 min from my work. I think I'll see if he still has them and take a look. My wife will be so excited to see those in the back of my truck:laughing

I was too slow, they are gone. Hopefully someone uses them and just doesn't turn them in for scrap.
