Scanned some old photos while home sick yesterday. Sorry they aren't the best quality but thought some of the old-timers might enjoy them...

Max Elvin throwing it all away. #240 is Ross Wells, I believe. This hung on the garage wall for years as a poster captioned "Man's got to know his limitations..."

It is so cool to see those guys "back in the day". Amazing history.

Nice to see the FZR400s too.

Thanks, Miguel! I dig the 400's, too. This one set a record for most miles covered in a 24-hour period at the 24-hour down at Willow Springs 22 years ago. This is me and Eric...

And this was mine. It had the 400 frame and aluminum deltabox swing arm but had the 600 motor. Knowing what I know now, I would have kept the 400 motor...

The pics of those twins are interesting. I bet usb3 couldn't transfer as much data as fast as they seem to be transferring with a glance.

Does Bates leathers still exist?

Yeah, Eric and Max are pretty close. It's a special thing to grow up a twin. It's always "When we were in 4th grade..." or "On our 8th birthday..." or When we were growing up..." It's always "we," there is hardly ever an "I" in there. Pretty cool. They had a good time racing together.

And, yeah, Bates still makes leathers :)

Absolutely! Post `em up! Feel free to add the 80's to the title, too.

I've got some more from when the nationals were held at Sears, too. Not necessarily AFM'ers, but they have a place in this thread, too, I think.

Kurt Hall taking home the goods from Portland. I think he was still with the Humans when this was taken, beating the factory guys. Gotta love it...

Wow, I remember a few of those guys when I was just starting, Joe Brett, and Montano.

Paul Kellogg was a friend, I think it was 95 when he won the championship as I was just starting with AFM
