NSFW Bike vs. Bike Head-on last year during (not at) IOMTT

Wow.

One rider must have caught some splashed fuel on him mid-air as on frame 0:25 he just lit up on fire.

That was last year during the Manx GP. They had to resurface the road as it had been melted. I remember changing my line in to the corner as the patch caused 2 large bumps on entry.

I think the German biker "forgot" which side of the road to be on :(

Taze away, Yana...
If I'm not mistaken (and I may be) but, during the TT the mountain section is always one way for all spectators. I have been told this several times by buddies that have ridden it for the fun sighting laps they let the spectators do.

If that is in fact true, then why was this kid riding the wrong way?

There were cars traveling towards the riders, so it was not one-way traffic.
Someone decided they were more important than anyone else and had to get there first.

Just watched it again, Yup cars and stuff (how did I miss that?). The one way must just be for one event.

I have no comment on the actual circumstances, but your buddies may be referring to the old TT "Mad Sunday", where the whole TT circuit used to be open to everyone, without speed limits outside of towns and villages. Deaths happened frequently when British riders met European riders and they all wanted the same tarmac while driving in opposite directions, like in this video. Now only one direction is permitted on Mad Sunday.

i'd imagine zee german dude is the one on the wrong side of the road, passing people in this video. 2 dudes passing a line of other peeps, one of them was just too dumb to know when to check up.

That's what I thought until someone said he forgot which side to drive on. I mean, can you really forget while making a pass? The bikes next to you are your reminder.

Unless it was an awful bad brain fart and he thought, "wait are all these guys passing me?"

On that section there is NEVER a speed limit

The German guy was the bike travelling towards the camera, on the Right hand side as viewed from the camera.
The right hander before the accident is Georges Folley where my team mate Tim was killed the year before this, during practice on his SV650 :(
