Pretty Vacant
Hi guys. I'm in the process of putting my RGV250 that I wrecked last fall at Sears Point. The pipes got pretty tweaked in the crash and the silencers took a beating. They're Sugaya's which are expensive to replace. I'm leaning toward replacing them with Lomas pipes which give the choice of stainless vs mild steel. The stainless ones are prettier but I've read the mild steel ones are more durable. I've also read the stainless ones retain heat better and produce more power. Also, of course, the ss pipes are more $$. I'd like to get some input from the BARF gurus. :teeth

I would doubt mild steel are going to take more abuse than SS. Plus I bet those SS ones look wicked.

It wouldn't surprise me if stainless was thinner, which would lead to the durability difference.

Stainless transmits less heat than mild steel, so that part sounds right (although whether or not it makes more power I don't know).

Not with a two-smoke application, but I've got a full system w/ carbon can on the RVFlette and it's nicer than its price.
