Friday, 11/25: Mellow sport touring ride with some spirited sections: :ride

Meet @ Cordelia Starbucks 9am, KSU 9:30am > Napa > Mt Veeder > Howell Mtn Rd > Middletown for lunch > Hwy 29 > Petrified Forest Rd > Spring Mtn Rd > St Helena. Return via your choice: Silverado Trail > Hwy 121 OR Sage Cyn > Monticello > Wooden Vly. :thumbup

Please be ready with snacks, full tank, and tuned equipment inside helmet and under your butt.

This route has a lot of steep, twisty mountain roads. And with recent storms there could be debris on the roadway. And out-of-town tourists (like us). In wine country, possibly drunk out-of-town drivers (not like us). Be careful, and sorry, no newbs.

If weather is iffy, check back to this thread Fri. morning.

We should see some beautiful fall color and autumn light effects. Dress in layers and bask in that turkey-fueled glow!

Sorry, late night sleepy fog. :facepalm Date is Black Friday 11/25. Black is for tire color. Come ride if you're not shopping or have other plans!

Mods, can you edit my thread name in the Group Rides list to include the date? Or, how do I do it?

I'm glad to see some Northbay people responding. Main start will be Cordelia Starbucks, but we'll stop briefly at the Starbucks 1340 Trancas St, Napa to pick up Northlanders @ about 10:15-10:30am on FRIDAY the TWENTY-FIFTH (11/25/2011) :thumbup

Will you stop anywheere in calistoga? I will come from windsor and can meet up in calistoga if you will stop there for 10 min to gas up etc.

We'll pass thru Calistoga after lunch and refueling in Middletown. I can call you when we leave M-town. I'll PM you my cell # and you reply with yours, if that's OK. Google Maps gives 24 min drive time. :cool

Had a great time! Only I'll be cleaning the duc all week. Did I mention I hate riding with wet leaves in every other turn. One section had green pavement, another had 100' of mud goo into a turn. But all said still a great ride. There was one nice dry section of sweepers, so It was not all slow ridin. Did make a fool of myself when I left my kick stand down and the bike kept cutting out.
Was thinkin I'm stuck in no mans land till someone reminded jackass his stand was down. And thanks Nicki for the short cut home, well short cut to my beer :thumbup
