Hey all,

I've met some of you through barf before and apparently went to school with some other ones. Back in SF, after playing soccer in Germany and the US, I ended up getting my Moto license now that I have stopped playing professionally. I now am a strength and conditioning coach for a college prep as well as my own business. In addition, I coach competitive club soccer (U18 premier) and college prep varsity. (SHC just won CCS and the coaching staff and players will be honored at todays SJ Earthquakes Game). I just moved back to SF, and have been working there for the past year. While I have a lot of clients right now, I am happy to help out with people from BARF, either with advice or actual coaching/programming for strength and conditioning. I specialize in athletics but I do have some clients that are more general population. Ive been training teams and individuals for the past 6 years, all ages and skill levels, so chances are I may be able to help you if you ask. Feel free to PM me and I will probably start up a Q&A thread where I can respond to programming questions.

I am looking to buy my first bike and am still trying to find someone with an SV650 I could test ride. I have ridden a CBR 250 and a ninja 250, both of which are easy and comfortable but the third contender is the SV650. Eventually ill move up to a new FZ -07 which I fucking love the look of. I'm a petrol head and have worked on my BMWs as far as cars go, and am looking forward to learning about and modifying Bikes now too! Currently drive an AW/KR 2015 M235 so if you see me around say hi!

Just thought I'd introduce myself after lurking in the sink for the past few years and making amazing guacamole and Jamaican Jerk Salsa and BBQ bacon Whiskey beans for my brother to take to some events.

Rob / th3 d0c's neighbor is selling a still brand new sfv650 with only 1K mile. Check her out !! Else... sit on various bikes at local bike dealers to get a feel for what would work best for you !! Since you are in the market to get a ride, you might benefit from a fellow BARFer's bike : Moto for Sale. CL (Craig List) has lots of bikes for sale, just be careful of scams on there : NEVER pay with a money order and it would be good to check out your bike with someone in the know, a BARFer or a friend ! I would also check out all local motorcycle dealers, sit on and feel how comfortable I'd be on various different bikes! Lots of bike dealers in the City, the Peninsula, the East & South Bay !!!

Speaking of which... when you'll be ready check out :Group Rides >>> MGR (mellow group ride) <<< no :bs :ride's, some are actually more or lots more advanced SOooo look for the newbie welcomed MGRs and Social Gatherings to meet lotsa CHILL peeps on BARF. :cool We've got movie nights down ... not in the City but... in the South Bay at either the C12 (Camera 12) downtown SJ or the C7 (Camera 7) at the Pruneyard in Campbell !! -- Fri or Sun nights, sometimes on Sat nights too. Ride down to meet folks, have dinner, watch a flix !! I am a regular to these.

There are a LOTs of BARFers in the City, Marin, Oaklamd/Oaktown, the Peninsula and all over the BA. Pete is by SJSU as you know. I am down in South SJ where 101 meets 85 @ Bernal so you can join a BARFer or 2 in a low key no pressure ride..., OR... an MGR mentioned above ! Hit me up if you wanna get on a no pressure ride sometimes ! I do post up rides in Group Rides every now and then ! Also I def will take you up for your offer !!!

Again, when the time is right....you missed it but check out one of BARF BIGGEST "thang" : 2014 BARF RydTher Rally!!! We're had lotsa FUN and the bonding experience was awesome !! Twisties / cool roads around the SF B.A. ? There's Alice (84 & 35), one big bikers' landmark and Hwy 9 & 1, 84, 35, 152, 25 ! Lots more other twisties : Uvas Rd, Mt Ham(ilton) Rd, Mt. Tam(alpais) Rd, Beryessa, RWR (Red Wood Road), and "The Wall" << another Riders' landmark above Berkeley & Oakland Hills with great view of the Bay, looking West? ... and the list goes on....

Check out the Vintage Cafe sub forum ! I betcha you'll love it ! If you wrench or wanna learn how to wrench, Moto Shop, at Potrero Hill in the City ( I talked to Wilder and met Aleks ), is a great place for you to hang out. They are a BARF sponsor. You can bring your bike there to work on with their tools, etc.

As to gear, take advantage of all the moto gear shops in SF and all over the BA to go in to try on for size and comfort (jackets, riding pants & lids). To name a few : the D-store (Dainese store) & Scuderia West in the city; CG (Cycle Gear) all over the BA; Road Rider in SJ and Santa Clara Cycle in Sunnyvale. Nobody minds if you walk around the store with a lid on to get a feel for comfort and fit. Ask lots of questions to the staff about gear. :afm199

Yup got my GT Veloce AGV helmet, Dianese leathers, and RS torque in boots already.

Budget is like 3k for first bike, then I'm gonna get a new FZ-07 (white/black)!

I've got way more ink, way more abs, and a better sense of humor. He just has the whole pity thing going for him lol. I've been busy that past couple BBQ meet ups and lagunitas excursions but I'm looking forward to it!

Just bought his first bike today off another BARFer, aznsfgiants (think that was his name. Jason.) 2009 Ninja 250. Guess I gotta start hitting the city more to tow him around and ride with you guys more.
