Hullo, so I posted my intro post in the Newbie sub not long ago, and some folks in my area chimed in that they'd be down to hit the road at some point! I am here to propose that, if it works with schedules and such, the Saturday after next (September the 12th) would be an awesome day to just go fart around and find the cool riding spots that I've never been to yet (new rider as well as new to the forum, as it were).

Of course, opening this to more than just those that responded to noob thread (RDT, Yodaisgod, Dr. Kazn, and NeeLeo), and I'm down to coordinate, but since I don't know jack about any of this basically (roads, spots, what a petcock is, or what it feels like to have been riding for more than 1000 miles), I would buy you a beer to help figure all that out. Is this a really unorthodox post for this sub? I dunno, I just got here, whatever lets ride already!

I should be able to make it on the 12th - I'll join you guys if that's cool. I'll be on my Guzzi as well...

I'm down to join too. There's some great roads around here. I gotta get some seat time on my new machines anyways :)
I might be the slow guy in the back, 2up with the lady though :)

EDIT: Glenn beat me to it, hah!

UPDATE: Whoa, this blew up a little, awesome! First off, one of the admins took the time to give me some sage advice, so I want to encourage everyone else who hasn't already done so to check out the following thread containing a list of links us nooblets should familiarize ourself with (thanks @flying_hun!):

ALSO, in terms of scheduling, I am down for next Friday (the 4th), but my Saturday is booked; same with the 12th, so Friday the 11th would also be ideal for me. Everyone, post their ideal dates, don't worry about fitting into my schedule, and we'll see what works!

Finally, currently my plan consisted of us meeting up at the Oxbow public market in Napa because it's a nice spot with a parking lot and places to get coffee/grub/oysters/exotic spices and cocktail mixers, but again I'm open and flexible here. I'm most familiar with the Napa Valley, up the Silverado trail past the wineries and such, up highway 29 to Calistoga and the petrified forest, there's even a geyser up there being all old and faithful and whatnot! Sonoma's Valley of the Moon is also an awesome scenic tour through a less crowded wine country setting, and Sonoma the town itself is a great, quaint little place to hit cafes and frighten the local hippies with our daredevil lifestyles. So that's what I've got to bring to all this, let me know your thoughts and again the dates that work best for you!

I'm free for most of Friday the 4th, I have to drive up from Livermore in the morning, but I can be to Oxbow by 11am-12pm. Saturday and Sunday also work for me. But Oxbow sounds cool, I've only ever been there once before. Thanks for the link too!
