Non secure connection questions

I am not tech savvy, nor trying to stir any pot.

On my iphone, I have a secure connection to Barf. On my laptop using what I believe is the latest Chrome browser, I get the message up in the address area of Not secure. Everything works and not having any problems accessing pages on Barf.

Should I be concerned? Is there something I should be doing? Can I get the Coronavirus this way? :laughing :twofinger

It is of value if you transmit sensitive data, like your credit card number. Otherwise, someone can intercept the contents of the Barf, which they can get by going to Barf in the first place.

I'm working on some openssl/nginx upgrades today. Things are still encrypted, just that they are encrypted with older "not secure" TLS versions. Hopefully I can fix that shortly.

Also, FreeBSD is stupid.

But why does teh BARF make us sign in multiple times when we're posting?

Might have been that the upgrade invalidated a bunch of cookies people had. So you would need to re-check "remember me" on login.

Just came back to this post to see what became of it as I noticed I no longer get the message when using my laptop and have my little padlock icon back... so I am "secure again." No idea what all the posts mean, I'm technically challenged. :toothless

Thanks for all of the work you do for Barf Valgar! :thumbup :applause
